2. What we collect on this website

This policy covers only the marketing website. When you use the School Console product as a school, parent, student or staff member, that's a different relationship — your school's data controller handles your data, and we are its processor under a separate Data Processing Agreement.

On this marketing site we collect:

• Form submissions — your name, organisation, email, phone, and any message you send via Request-Demo, Contact, Newsletter, Unsubscribe, or Careers forms.
• Newsletter subscriptions — email address, plus the date/time of subscribe + unsubscribe.
• Live-chat transcripts — if you open the chat bubble (powered by Tawk.to), the text of your conversation, your displayed name (if you provide one), your visitor session id, browser and city-level location are processed by Tawk.to on our behalf to deliver the chat. Transcripts are retained per Tawk.to's policy and available to our support team.
• Server logs — IP address, browser type, page requested, referrer URL, timestamp. Retained for 30 days, then aggregated.
• Analytics — anonymous aggregate page-view stats via Plausible (no cookies, no personal data). Not yet active; will be enabled in v1.5.

3. How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry, demo request, or application.
• To send you the newsletter you subscribed to.
• To detect and prevent abuse (form spam, bots, scraping).
• To measure aggregate site performance.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond the above.

4. Who we share it with

We share the minimum data needed with:

• Our email provider, to deliver newsletter mail you signed up for.
• Our analytics provider (Plausible — cookieless, EU-hosted), to count page views.
• Our live-chat provider (Tawk.to, operating as a data processor under their privacy policy and DPA), to deliver the chat-bubble experience. Only data you submit through the chat is processed by them; we do not give them any of our form data.
• Our cloud hosting provider, to host the website.
• Indian law enforcement, if compelled by valid legal process.

We never share marketing-site form data with any third party for marketing or training.

5. Cookies

This site uses a small set of cookies — one functional cookie for form security (anti-CSRF), plus the Tawk.to live-chat widget's cookies (set only after you interact with the page, so a returning chat resumes correctly). We do not use advertising or third-party analytics tracking cookies. See Cookie policy for the full list.

6. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable international laws, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
• Erasure — ask us to delete it (subject to legal-retention requirements).
• Withdraw consent — for example, unsubscribe from the newsletter at /unsubscribe.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@schoolconsole.net. We respond within 30 days as required by law.

7. Retention

• Marketing leads — retained for 24 months after last contact, then deleted.
• Newsletter subscriptions — retained until you unsubscribe.
• Server logs — 30 days, then aggregated.
• Career applications — retained for 12 months after application, then deleted unless we extend an offer.

8. International transfers

Your data is processed on infrastructure based in India (default) or in a region you've specified contractually. We do not transfer marketing-site form data outside India without your explicit consent.

9. Security

This website uses TLS 1.2+ for all transport. Form submissions are protected by an anti-CSRF token. We strip server-fingerprint headers, enforce a strict Content-Security-Policy, and rate-limit form submissions to deter automated abuse. Our responsible-disclosure programme welcomes reports of any vulnerability you find.

10. Changes

We update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for 30 days. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the most recent revision.
